EDGE Program Eligibility

A student is eligible for services from EDGE if he/she meets the following criteria:

• Is a citizen or national of the United States, or meets the residency requirements for Federal student financial assistance.
• Is enrolled full-time (12 credit hours or more), or planning to complete 24 credit hours per year at SJC, or accepted for enrollment in the next academic term.
• Has a need for academic support, as determined by this program, in order to successfully pursue a postsecondary educational program.
• Is ...
  a) First generation college student status (neither parent has a bachelors degree or beyond).
  b) First generation and Low Income (as described by the U.S. Department of Education guidelines)
  or
  c) Has a documented disability (physical or learning).

If the individual is accepted as an active participant in this program, verification of all the above mentioned criteria is necessary.
