Examinations Offered

To schedule a test you may call us at (505) 566-3139 or (505) 566-3329. Some tests will require you to visit the SJC Testing Center in person to complete the required application. All exams require payment prior to making an appointment either at the SJC Business Office or through the testing company.

	Various Certification and licensure testing. The SJC Testing Center is a certified Pearson Vue Authorized Center.	By appointment.	Exams must be scheduled through the Pearson Vue website.
Accuplacer Placement Exam	Entrance requirement for SJC students and others	Weekdays from 8AM to 3:00 PM on a walk-in basis and other times by appointment in the SJC Advising and Counseling Center room 4106.	Contact the SJC Advising and Counseling Center at 505-566-3404.
ACT College Entrance Examinations	Entrance requirement for many four-year colleges and universities.	Register online at www.actstudent.org	Mail in registration packets are available in the Testing Center.
	Certification testing for the automotive industry.	Offered online through the ASE website or paper/pencil testing on November 8,13 and 15, 2007 and May 8, 13, abd 15, 2008.	Go to the ASE Website for more information. You must register through ASE.
CLEP® (College Level Exam Program)	College credit received by examination.	Online testing scheduled by appointment.	Contact the SJC Testing Center for information. 505-566-3139.
Dental Assistant National Board	Certification examination for Dental Assistants.	Online testing scheduled by appointment.	You must register through the Dental Assisting National Board.
GED: General Educational Development	The GED Examination is given Wednesday mornings and Thursday afternoons, most weeks of the year.	You must pay for your exam and register with the SJC Testing Center prior to scheduling your exam. Examinees who are 16 or 17 years of age will be required to complete an underage permit. National League for Nursing ACE I or II Examinations	Acceleration Challenge Exams for BSN programs. SJC offers this as a service to UNM and other students.	Testing is available year round. We require payment up front. Appointments are set 3-4 weeks after payment to allow for shipping of the testing materials.	Contact the SJC Testing Center for information. 505-566-3452.
National League for Nursing Pre-RN Examinations	Entrance requirement for various nursing programs. No longer required for the San Juan College Nursing Dept.	By appointment. Call the SJC Testing Center for available times.	Contact the SJC Testing Center for an appointment. 505-566-3139.
New Mexico Teacher Assessments	New Mexico teaching licensing certifications.	November 17, 2007 and March 15, 2008.	You must register on the NMTA website.
ParaPro	Educational Assistant Certification.	Contact your local school district for information.	Contact your local school district for information.
PRAXIS	Teaching Licensing Certification.	September 8, 2007 and April 26, 2008	You must register on the Praxis website.
Proctoring for Distance Education Exams	Exams from other colleges and universities.	Arranged by agreement between SJC Testing Center and the Distance Ed school. $20.00 fee applies to each exam.	Contact your college and the SJC Testing Center for information.
PSB (Psychological Services Bureau)	Entrance requirement for the SJC Physical Therapist Assistant programs.	Pay fee at the SJC Business Office, then arrange an appointment. Computer based testing by appointment. It is possible to schedule this exam at an alternate site through the SJC Testing Center. Call for information.
