High school juniors, seniors and GED students will have the opportunity to attend the first Latino College Day at San Juan College on November 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Henderson Fine Arts Center. Sponsored by ENLACE (ENgaging LAtino Communities for Education), this event will encourage students to spend a day at San Juan College with motivational speakers, local community Latino heroes and other students.
Students will have the opportunity to meet with college officials and learn how to make college a reality. Tours of campus will be available following the program.

Guest speakers will be Molina Soleil and Aju, a rising artistic duo who blend languages, cultures, and styles into a striking fusion of art. The duo pairs their respective skills as recording and performance artists, modern-day storytellers, and educators and activists who work to empower youth.
Aju is a poet, dancer, and vocalist who spent the first half of her life in Japan. She weaves her verbal repertoire of five languages into soulful verses that reflect her hybrid cultural upbringing and distinct artistic flare. Her emerging body of work focuses on her experiences as an Asian-American woman, her concern for human rights and the global environment. Aju will lead a workshop on the power of language and culture, focusing on identity as a source of pride and empowerment.
Molina Soleil is a nationally acclaimed hip-hop artist, poet, and lecturer. He hails from a blue-collar Mexicano/Chicano background. Molina's savvy, streetwise lyrics reflect his sense of social responsibility. Molina is a first generation college student who graduated from law school. He chose to forgo a career in law and follow his ambitions as an artist, educator, and activist. Molina will facilitate a discussion on the history of the Chicano movement and its continuing relevance in American society. Molina will discuss issues of Latina/o youth empowerment, the Latina/o experience at colleges and universities, and the importance of community building and youth activism.
