Have you ever wanted to have professional looking faux-painted walls but just couldn't afford to have it done? It's not as hard to do as you think. Learn how to do it yourself and save money when the San Juan College Community Learning Center offers the class titled "Fabulous Faux for Boring Walls," Saturday, November 7.
Linda Coffman will teach students all they need to know to get started in the one-day class. Taught in two parts, the morning session will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m., and will cover the basic looks including faux suede, marble, granite and old plaster walls. Part two will run from 12:30 to 3 p.m. and combines Coffman's approach with more popular ones such as glazes, tissue paper, dry brushing, faux brick looks and more.
Following the class, students will know how to create perfect ceilings and corners, use glaze with double rollers, and how to design numerous looks such as the leather look and old world looks. By learning the practical tricks of the trade, even beginners will amaze their neighbors!
Coffman has been in the wallpapering and faux-painting business for more than 18 years. Her work is featured in businesses, hotels, restaurants, bed and breakfasts and fine homes throughout the Minnesota area and now in Arizona. Hundreds are now using her dual-roller techniques to create their own professional looking faux-painted walls.
Cost for part one is $25 for the class and $29 for materials. Cost for part two is also $25 for the class. Register for both sessions and pay $45 for the classes, and $29 for materials.
