Child Care Grant

San Juan College students who require child care and who qualify for the Pell Grant will have another resource to help pay for care at the on-campus Child and Family Development Center. The College has been awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Education that helps to keep parents in school by providing access to quality child care.

One-third of slots available to SJC students at the center will be reserved for participants in this grant. Specifically, funds will be used to support families who miss the cut-off for the state child care subsidy but still have financial need.

A sliding fee scale will be implemented. The program will begin immediately and will be administered through the Child and Family Development Center. For more information, contact Lyn Garrison, 505-566-3383.
