Position Description and Qualifications
The Espanola Valley Humane Society is seeking a full time veterinary technician for our high quality, high volume spay/neuter clinic. Duties include anesthesia induction, intubation, monitoring of surgery patients during all aspects of surgery and recovery, administering medications, IV catheter placement, maintaining clinical records. Administering heart worm tests and some vaccinations as well as providing care and treatment to sick and injured shelter animals is also required. Must have good technical and organizations skills, be willing to work with a team, have a strong commitment to animal welfare and the proper treatment of animals. Must also be able to lift 40 pounds. Two academic and/or professional references required. CVT/RVT preferred but not necessary.

Immediate opening for Licensed Veterinary Technician for one-doctor small animal practice/dental specialty practice in DeWitt; unlicensed persons need not apply. We are NYSVMS accredited, AAHA accredited since 1987, and an AAFP-certified Cat Friendly Practice. Must have excellent client communication skills in addition to clinical proficiency; interest in dentistry a plus.

Our practices are focused on the human-animal bond and we strive to provide excellent pain management. We utilize a variety of techniques and devices to help us administer anesthesia with the utmost safety to our patients. Technicians are utilized to the fullest of their capabilities.

The veterinary hospital manager is charged with the responsibility of managing the business activities, facilities and personnel of the practice. The practice manager will foster a client satisfaction oriented team with an emphasis on coworker cooperation.
The hospital manager will be responsible for schedules, human resources, task delegation, client service, overseeing facility maintenance, OSHA compliance, inventory, and financial operations. The hospital manager will also be required to act in a reception role as needed.

Previous experience in management and in veterinary medicine is required.
