You can take our two-year Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Business Administration in person or online. This degree can transfer to a four-year university, so you can continue your path to earn your bachelor's degree.

Or choose the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Business Administration. This two-year in-person degree offers four concentrations so you can focus on an area of business management.

Choose the Business Administration AA degree if you plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to earn your bachelor's degree. Study business fundamentals and take general education classes that prepare you for advanced coursework. The AA courses are available on campus and/or online, giving you extra flexibility as you pursue your dream career.

If you're looking to enter the workforce right away, the Business Administration AAS degree is the right fit for you. Be ready for entry-level management, front-line supervision, or other positions requiring basic leadership skills. Gain practical skills and knowledge that you can apply directly to your career.

In the AAS program, you'll take nine core courses as the foundation for your degree. You'll also choose from one of four concentrations to help you develop specific skill sets based on your career goals.

  • General Management Concentration: Take classes that teach you how to manage a business, from accounting to spreadsheeting.
  • Office Management Concentration: Study how to keep offices efficient and organized. Take courses such as Records Management, Business Math, and Office Procedures.
  • Entrepreneurship and Innovation Concentration: Explore how to start your own business and make it successful. Learn how to manage small businesses, advertise, and more.
  • Digital Media Marketing Concentration: Discover the latest digital marketing trends with this practical focus. Practice using photo and video editing tools.

Business Administration AAS Curriculum

Transfer Options

Business Administration AA students may transfer directly to four-year institutions to earn a bachelor's degree. SJC's primary transfer partners for this program are:

  • Fort Lewis College
  • New Mexico Highlands University
  • The University of New Mexico

The Business Administration AAS program does not directly transfer to four-year schools. However, some schools may accept courses as credit toward your bachelor's degree.
