Tribal Energy Management
The Tribal Energy Management Studies (TEMS) Associate of Applied Science degree program, offered in partnership with COTA Holdings, includes a focus on Tribal Energy Management curriculum along with general education courses, online energy core curriculum courses and student-selected energy concentration courses,
Specific requirements for the Tribal Energy Management Studies degree include completion of the following:
- 15 hours of Tribal Energy Management courses focused on Native American history and culture, business, and science as related to the development of energy resources on tribal lands; delivered in a non-traditional format as a series of five(5) week-long seminars that are also available to industry professionals, tribal leaders, and other interested none-degree seeking parties.
- 15-16 hours of general education courses
- 15 hours of online energy core curriculum courses
- 15 hours of student-selected energy concentration courses
Enroll in the Tribal Energy Management Studies, AAS degree
Students interested in earning a Tribal Energy Management Studies, AAS degree will need to follow San Juan College enrollment process.
New students will need to complete San Juan College’s online application and enrollment steps.
Current students will need to contact their academic advisor or the Tribal Energy Management Studies Program Advisor to discuss course planning options.

Tribal Energy Management Studies, AAS program cost
Students at San Juan College, whether they are enrolled in the TEMS A.A.S. program or in other degree programs, will be charged according to standard college cost structure at the time of registration. Each seminar is a 3 credit class.
