The OTA program offers a full range of interactive classes and hands-on lab practice that prepares students for this rewarding and specialized field. Students study and learn how the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, and human movement are integrated into the therapeutic interventions and techniques utilized in OT. Assessment procedures and intervention strategies along with an emphasis on safe implementation are covered in depth in order for students to provide the best possible care for physical, cognitive and social disabilities while covering specialized equipment and techniques to assist patients. Students also gain experience in Fieldwork settings to enhance work learned in class.
In addition to academic classes and fieldwork, students will participate in several OTA-sponsored community activities including Car Fit and OT month celebration.
