Today, San Juan College and San Juan Regional Medical Center signed an innovative and unique agreement that will grow our region’s nursing workforce and change lives in the process. This agreement will provide for a remarkable expansion of San Juan College’s Associate Degree in Nursing program, increasing its size by 50%. It’s a level of growth that is rare, ambitious, and essential to addressing our region’s healthcare needs. Thanks to SJRMC’s generous support, full-time nursing faculty will receive a $10,000 annual stipend, and qualifying students will have an opportunity to enter into an agreement with the hospital to receive a $4,800 living stipend per semester. Together, we’re building stronger families, healthier communities, and a workforce ready to serve for generations to come. When education and healthcare unite, everyone benefits. Here’s to collaboration, compassion, and a healthier tomorrow.

Today, we celebrated the grand opening of the new San Juan College Student Health Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and guided tours! This state-of-the-art facility will provide accessible medical and counseling services right on campus—ensuring our students have the support they need to thrive.

Congratulations to the San Juan College Harvest Food Hub for winning a 2024 Golden Chile Award!
The Harvest Food Hub, located at 310 W. Animas in downtown Farmington, was honored by New Mexico Grown for its “mature and fruitful” food hub programs. New Mexico Grown connects local farmers, ranchers, and food businesses with residents and meal programs to make healthy, locally grown foods more accessible across the state.

The San Juan College (SJC) Orchestra performance originally planned for Friday, November 22, has been rescheduled and will be held on Thursday, December 19, at 7 p.m., in the Henderson Fine Arts Center Performance Hall.
Selections the orchestra will perform include A Time For Us by Nino Rota, The Girl With The Flaxen Hair by Claude Debussy, Petite Suite: Jeux d’Enfants (Children’s Games) by Georges Bizet and Prelude on King’s Weston by Douglas Mears.
The concert will also include a multi-media presentation and a medley of songs from the Broadway musical Les Misérables, adding to the night’s enjoyment.
Tickets pre-purchased for this event’s original November 22 date will be honored on December 19. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and free for students and SJC staff.
Other musical performances will be held as scheduled below:
San Juan College Symphonic Band – December 13 – 7 p.m. – Henderson Fine Arts Center
San Juan College Jazz Ensemble – December 16 – 7 p.m. – Henderson Fine Arts Center
San Juan College African Drumming Ensemble – December 20 – 7 p.m. – Connie Gotsch Theatre
Tickets are available for all of these performances online at sanjuancollege.edu/events or at the door.
