First Annual Arbor Day Tree Giveaway
Friday, April 26 | 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. | San Juan College Greenhouse
The community is invited to choose from one of 1,300 tree seedlings to take home and plant. Select from a variety of trees including: Arizona Cypress, Bald Cypress, Black Walnut, Burr Oak, English Oak, Gambel Oak, Shumard Oak and White Oak.
Martha Redbone Bonehill
Mark your calendars for Sunday, April 28 at 7 p.m., when the San Juan College Silhouette Series presents Martha Redbone: Bonehill, in the Henderson Fine Arts Center Performance Center.
Martha Redbone is an American blues and soul singer – part Cherokee, Choctaw, European and African-American descent. She has won awards for her contemporary Native American music – a mix of rhythm and blues, and soul music influences, fused with elements of traditional Native American music.
SJC Orchestra Concert
Enjoy an evening of music when the San Juan College Orchestra performs on Friday, May 10, at 7 p.m., in the Henderson Fine Arts Performance Hall, as part of the San Juan College Silhouette Series.
The San Juan College Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Teun Fetz, will have six full ensemble pieces and one special trio featuring Cathy Pope on violin, Joe Pope on Viola and Edie Farm on Piano.
If Beale Street Could Talk
The Farmington Cinematheque Series presents If Beale Street Could Talk, Friday, May 17, at 7 p.m., in the Little Theatre.
In early 1970s Harlem, daughter and wife-to-be Tish vividly recalls the passion, respect and trust that have connected her and her artist fiancé Alonzo Hunt, who goes by the nickname Fonny. Friends since childhood, the devoted couple dream of a future together, but their plans are derailed when Fonny is arrested for a crime he did not commit.
How to Pay for SJC
San Juan College offers students a range of resources for student financial assistance through federal and state funding, state lottery scholarships, as well as scholarships available through the San Juan College Foundation. San Juan College’s Financial Aid office is available to advise and assist students in securing the funding to complete their educational goals.
