The Harvest Kitchen at the Harvest Food Hub and Kitchen has started offering culinary classes that are open to all levels of cooking skills.
The grand opening and ribbon cutting at the Harvest Food Hub & Kitchen in July kicked off a series of food-related activities for food entrepreneurs in the Four Corners area.
Firstly, the Harvest Food Hub & Kitchen delivers locally grown produce and products through an online marketplace, serving all types of customers, from wholesale to weekly Farm Boxes and custom retail orders. They also have a new retail store, The Harvest Market, which is open to the public. The newly renovated building also serves as an additional location to pick-up orders that are placed online. And, now The Harvest Kitchen (still under renovation) will begin offering classes to farmers and “foodies” alike!
Classes for All Skill Levels and Age Ranges
The Harvest Kitchen classes include: Basic Knife Skills open to all skill levels and age ranges, and Extended Knife Skills: Produce & Herbs open to those who want to continue after taking the basic class. They also offer the professional class for Food Protection Manager’s Certification. The Harvest Food Hub provides Farm Safety classes for those looking to begin farming, or those looking to gain certification for their farms.
“More classes will be offered as we continue to build the professional-grade kitchen,” says Amy McNelis-Lunn, The Harvest Kitchen’s manager. “We see this as an opportunity to introduce the community to the Hub and find out how we can serve our community.” Mcnelis-Lunn will offer the classes at The Harvest Food Hub & Kitchen through the Community Learning Center.
