As 2023 comes to a close, San Juan College (SJC) is gearing up for an exciting and diverse range of events throughout November and December. From thought provoking movies to artistic performances and festive holiday celebrations, SJC has something for everyone in the community to enjoy.
Falls Around Her
On November 10, at 6 p.m., the Cinematheque Series presents a screening of Falls Around Her at the Henderson Fine Arts Center Performance Hall (HFAC). Award-winning actress Tantoo Cardinal stars as a successful singer who leaves her life behind and returns to her reservation to live in solitude.
San Juan College Orchestra and Symphonic Band
If it’s music you are looking for, SJC has you covered. The San Juan College Orchestra will mesmerize music enthusiasts as they perform November 17, at 7 p.m., at the Henderson Fine Arts Center Performance Hall. On December 8, be captivated by the San Juan College Symphonic Band as they perform with special guest artist Delbert Anderson at the Henderson Fine Arts Center Performance Hall.
San Juan College African Drumming Ensemble
Take a transport to the heart of Africa through the unique beats and rhythms of the SJC African Drumming Ensemble. This vibrant performance is December 15, at 7 p.m. at the Connie Gotsch Theatre.
Best Brass of Christmas
When you are ready to usher in the holiday season, enjoy festive favorites from the “Best Brass of Christmas,” a holiday tradition in Farmington since 2007. The eleven-member brass ensemble performs December 16, at the Connie Gotsch Theatre. The HFAC also hosts the magic of Mann Dance Academy’s 15th Annual Nutcracker Christmas Spectacular. The whole family will enjoy this holiday classic with performances December 15 and 16. Immerse yourself in the world of fine and performing arts and mark your calendars for these exciting events that promise to inspire, entertain, and bring the community together.
