San Juan College Celebrates KSJE's Achievements

San Juan College (SJC) is thrilled to announce that KSJE 90.9 FM has garnered two prestigious 2024 New Mexico Broadcasters Association (NMBA) Excellence in Broadcasting Awards! The accolades were presented to KSJE’s General Manager, Scott Michlin, on June 21 at the NMBA Convention and Awards Ceremony held in Albuquerque.

KSJE's Award-Winning Coverage

KSJE earned two NMBA Large Market Radio awards for its exceptional coverage of the 2023 Connie Mack World Series. The station, alongside Kirk Carpenter, was awarded Best in Sports Play-by-Play Coverage. Additionally, KSJE and Keith Neil were recognized as Best in Sports Show or Interview.

“KSJE is incredibly fortunate to have an experienced team that shares their insights and knowledge with our audiences,” said KSJE General Manager Scott Michlin. “I always knew they were great, but it’s even better to be honored by your peers in the business for excellence in broadcasting.”

A Farmington Tradition: The Connie Mack World Series

The Connie Mack World Series has been a cherished tradition in Farmington since 1965, attracting talented teams, players, and Major League scouts to the area every summer. KSJE became the new radio home of the Series in 2021 and remains committed to delivering the same award-winning coverage for the upcoming 2024 Series.

Experienced Broadcast Team

KSJE’s broadcasts will be anchored by the seasoned broadcast team that has covered the World Series for the past two decades. Kirk Carpenter, Mark Strickland, Don Lorett, and Keith Neil will lead the efforts to bring every pitch, hit, and out from Ricketts Park to listeners.
