For the 2024-2025 academic year, the Foundation is proud to highlight several scholarship opportunities designed to support students in achieving their dreams.

Supporting Veterans and Their Families: Veteran and Dependents Housing Scholarship

The Veteran and Dependents Housing Scholarship helps veterans and their families manage housing costs while pursuing higher education.

This year’s recipients include:

  • Marissa Penn
  • Angelo Perez-Barnes
  • Camden Ramsey, a Pre-Nursing Program student

Ramsey shared, “This scholarship has relieved an enormous amount of stress for me. It has been a Godsend, and now I can focus on my classes.”

Honoring Compassion in Healthcare: Melissa Ginn Nursing Memorial Foundation Scholarship

Created by Mickey Ginn in memory of his wife, Melissa, the Melissa Ginn Nursing Memorial Foundation Scholarship supports aspiring nurses who demonstrate compassion and dedication to healthcare.

Recipient Sarah Klooster expressed her gratitude:
“It is extremely helpful to me to have this scholarship. I am able to attend nursing school because of this scholarship and pursue my dream of becoming a nurse.”

Building Workforce Skills: Vocational Skills Endowed Foundation Scholarship

The Vocational Skills Endowed Foundation Scholarship fosters skill development among students in the School of Trades and Technology. For 2024-2025, this scholarship provides housing assistance to four students:

  • Damek Silversmith
  • Trevor Thompson
  • Allen Ross
  • Wyatt Earle

Advancing Healthcare Careers: Bessie Gherardini Memorial Scholarship

Dedicated to students pursuing health sciences degrees, the Bessie Gherardini Memorial Scholarship offers financial support for on-campus housing. This year’s recipient is Jaedan Alfred, whose passion for healthcare is supported by this generous award.

Promoting STEM and Trades: Navajo Transitional Energy Company Scholarship

The Navajo Transitional Energy Company Scholarship addresses housing needs for two Native American students each academic year. It supports those pursuing degrees in STEM, energy, trades and technology, or health sciences.

For 2024-2025, the scholarship was awarded to:

  • Cameron Yellowhair
  • Cierra Begaye

Yellowhair shared, “Having this scholarship has made it easier knowing I don’t have to worry about housing.”
