The Liberal Arts degree is most popular with students who are planning to transfer to a four-year institution. If this is your goal, we encourage you to work closely with your academic advisor and the San Juan College Transfer Center to coordinate your SJC coursework to meet the requirements of your transfer institution. If you are transferring to an institution in New Mexico, this includes completing the New Mexico Transfer Module outlined in the Academic Catalog.
With an AA degree in Liberal Arts, you can go on to major in a wide number of areas: psychology, social sciences, English/literature, foreign languages, gender studies, political science, law, and history. Careers can include Civil Service, Government, counseling, social work, teaching, management, sales, translator/interpreter, communications, public relations, publishing, and more.
