The San Juan College Cosmetology program prides itself on its education and offers quality “real life” hands-on career training in Cosmetology, Barbering, Nail Technology and Esthetics. Students use current professional products and salon/spa equipment in a functioning salon environment. Instructors are committed to student success, and the program is designed to prepare the student for New Mexico licensure and entry-level employment.

The associate’s degree is available in the Cosmetology- Makeup/ Hair Artistry as well as Barbering. The program also offers several individualized certificates in specific personal care disciplines.

Being a licensed cosmetologist, barber stylist, or manicurist opens doors in many related fields, all offering solid earning potential, i.e. salon stylist, salon owner, make-up artist, platform artist, working as a researcher for a major company or an educator. While in this program you will learn artistry of hair, make-up and nails. You will learn the newest techniques of coloring with Paul Mitchell products.
